What is Word Frequency Counter?

A word frequency counter analyzes text and ranks words by how often they appear. It is more focused than a general word counter because it highlights repetition, keyword usage, vocabulary variety, and the relative share of each term. The table shows each word, its count, and its percentage of the analyzed word total.

This page reuses the same counting foundation as the Word Counter, then adds frequency analysis for content editing, SEO reviews, academic text checks, documentation cleanup, and writing quality audits. Since it runs in the browser, it is safe for drafts, client copy, private notes, and unpublished content.

How to Use Word Frequency Counter

1

Paste or type your text into the input area

2

Choose whether to ignore case and exclude common words

3

Set a minimum word length if you want to hide very short words

4

Review the ranked frequency table

5

Copy the frequency report for notes, SEO checks, or editing tasks

Common Use Cases

  • Finding overused words in blog posts, essays, landing pages, or documentation.
  • Checking keyword frequency before publishing SEO content.
  • Comparing vocabulary variety across drafts or article sections.
  • Cleaning generated text by identifying repeated filler words.
  • Analyzing transcripts, surveys, comments, and support notes for recurring terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does word frequency mean?
Word frequency is the number of times a word appears in the analyzed text. The percentage shows that word as a share of all analyzed words after filters are applied.
Why exclude common words?
Common words such as the, and, to, and of often dominate raw counts but are usually not meaningful for editing or SEO analysis.
Does capitalization affect counts?
By default, case is ignored, so Text, text, and TEXT are counted together. You can turn this off when capitalization matters.
Is this the same as keyword density?
It is closely related. Keyword density usually refers to the percentage share of a target keyword, while word frequency ranks every repeated word.
Is my text uploaded?
No. Frequency analysis runs locally in your browser and the text is not sent to a server.
