What is Random Planet Generator?

Building a science-fiction universe requires planets with distinct, internally consistent characteristics. This generator creates fictional planets with a randomised name, classification type, atmospheric composition, day and year length, surface temperature range, number of moons, gravity, and a habitability assessment.

Types range from Terrestrial and Ocean worlds to Gas Giants, Frozen wastelands, and Toxic hellscapes — giving you the full variety of a real star system.

How to Use Random Planet Generator

1

Select a planet type or leave on "All".

2

Set how many planets to generate.

3

Click "Generate".

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the planet stats scientifically accurate?
They follow plausible ranges inspired by real astrophysics, but are randomly generated fiction — not based on any specific known exoplanets.
What does AU mean?
AU stands for Astronomical Unit — the average distance between the Earth and the Sun (about 150 million km). It is used to express planetary distances from their host star.
