Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to include the country code?
Yes. WhatsApp requires the full international format with country code for wa.me links to work. For example, a US number would start with +1, UK with +44, India with +91. Omitting the country code will cause the link to fail or connect to the wrong number.
What formats are supported for the phone number?
Any format works — the tool automatically strips spaces, dashes, parentheses, and dots. You can paste +1 (415) 555-0100, 14155550100, or +1.415.555.0100 and the tool will produce the same link.
Does the recipient need to have my number saved?
